Geeez!

Posted by dangkin at 11:51 AM 0 comments

I just downloaded blogger app and honestly, I'm kind of lost :D Hmmmm...don't exactly know how to restart this thing but I guess I can do this...

Well, I have been working for almost 3months now.  It's just a 4minute drive away from the house - yes, I timed it when I went in for interview! - and so far, so good... I'm guessing they like me enough to let me stay and work with them for 3months! ;-)

Glad to be back in the corporate world.  I feel like it's where I belong & gives me some feeling of accomplishment at the end of the day - feels like I did something productive - like my world is actually turning round and round...like, I am doing something for the betterment of everybody...like, I'm in some kind of a mission - making the world a better place!

Peace.

Hello World!

Posted by dangkin at 8:27 PM 0 comments

Wow... It's been a while since I was here. Life hasn't been easy but, I'm a survivor. No, I didn't have to battle any illness. Thanks God! It's just that we moved again. Where we are right now is my 3rd home since coming here in 2005.

So...

A lot has changed this time. I'd like to say everything has been good. God has really been good to us. He's been watching over us. I can feel it. He is an awesome God. Been anxious what's going to come next but, I'm ready for it.

A little something

Posted by dangkin at 4:34 PM 0 comments
I am bored. Yes I am. And that means that I need to find something to do. Something to motivate me to get off my bu** and keep moving! Or maybe something to make my brain put into use :)

Let's see what I can do in this page because right now, it looks like a dorky page :))

See what I mean? I feel like I'm losing my touch... my creativity... I mean, I'm not really into the creative thing, but I know that I can make something a little better if I put a little effort into it.

Hopefully before the end of this month, I can make my worldwidehome a better place to hide. Wish me luck! :=)

I think I'm back! :-) Though I really don't know how to start again, I'll try to give it my mighty best to get back on track... Hmmm... I feel like I'm not making sense anymore. But, we'll see. As I've said, I'll give my mighty best! - for whatever that means ;)

When it rain...

...it really pours!

(click this one if you want to see it in black & white)

(click this pic if you wat to see the real color)

Better-half and I has been watching this storm developing and about to hit the Philippines again. And I still have it running on my computer right now. If only I could do something... I hope though that those who are in the area where this is forecasted to hit most are ready.

All I can do right now is pray...

This one or That one?

Nothing much to do today. I'm home alone co'z better-half is at work. Have a lot of to do's in my mind but I can't get myself up to do any of it! I know it sounds silly, but it's just one of those days that I really don't feel like doing something except, sit on our recliner while watching teevee, have the laptop on my lap and browse the internet. A very lazy day for me.

Anyway, while my eyes are on teevee, I caught a glimpse of my dream car. Again. A bmw z4. I know it's expensive. It's going to be a luxury for us. But I believe that if you want it, there's always a way. Hopefully 3 or 5 years more I can buy it myself :). But still, I'm not sure if it's going to be the one since better-half is dreaming of a corvette. If only I can convince him to agree with me...

I don't agree with him because I feel like I will be required to wear a leather costume in order to drive one of those. It's too sporty for me. And if I wanted to be that sporty, I'd rather drive a honda shadow 750. It's cheaper. I can have it built according to my specifications at a lower cost. Especially nowadays, there are a lot of sites that offers brand names up to 60% off.

Oh well...we'll see what we can agree with in coming days.

This story scared the heck out of me! Very tragic. My prayers goes out to her family, friends and acquaintances... I hope they'll find the bad guy soon and may he rot in jail!

How long has it been?

Posted by dangkin at 6:47 PM 0 comments
nearly 2 months? Yeah. Almost 2 months since the last time I was here. A lot have happened and been done.

And....it makes me feel good! :)

So... we did a lot of bowling. Oh, probably not a lot like how pros do it. But you know what, I am getting better at it. For the first time in my life, I scored above 170! Yipeeeyayyyow! :)
But wait, I scored higher than that... I broke 200 in one of our sessions! Bravoooo to me! He.He.He.

As far as I can remember when I was in Manila, the highest score I had was 156. And here I am after 5 years, a 50 pts increase. Does that mean I might be able to perfect the game after 10 more years? Hmmm... But I have to hand it to this bottle for keeping my score high and beating my Better-Half :)

Yep. He actually kept me in the game eventhough I didn't care less if my trusty 12pounder get into the gutter or straight right to the pins. It just surprises me everytime pins go down without me trying so darn hard. So I guess that's how you do it.

We also did a lot of not-so-short-road-trips. That's why after 2 years my little car-car reached more than 26K miles now. (Will post more about this when our desktop comes back from the doctor-that's where I uploaded our pics)

Also, since we've been here, I have already attended 4 baby showers! And it's only been 2 years! I did the invitation of the last one and the cake looks just like it! Makes me think that this might be my fall-on-to-job--invitation maker! :) I wonder who's going to be next...

This is the cake...

This is the original invitation...

And last but not the least, I got new wires for the 2nd time around. This will be for another 24months...

I hope that after my Orthodoc take this off, I will listen to what he tells me --wear your retainer! :)

It is what it is...

Posted by dangkin at 12:06 AM 2 comments
Yes. It is what it is -- is what I usually hear from my boss whenever he disagrees about something, but he can't do anything about it since it was already approved by somebody higher in the org chart :)

Anyway, most of you may not know it yet... I lost one of my elder sister to breast cancer in January, right after we got into the hospital where she was checked in. It was the most painfull scene I have ever witnessed. I was by her bedside until her last breath. Until now, everything is still fresh in my mind. If I only have the power...

It was one of the reasons why I don't feel like writing for a couple of months. Everytime the scene comes to my mind, it just hurt. So bad. But I think it won't stop not until I write about it. So here I am. I hope it will ease the pain a little...and I will slowly learn to let go...

And accept that it is what it is...

Hi everyone! I'm back! Wondering where I've been? Not too far away... It's just that there have been a lot of things going on in the family. Some are good. Some were not too good. But I think life's like that. It's full of surprises.

Well, I'm glad to be back and I hope something will inspire me to write more...

What do you call this little creature??

Posted by dangkin at 9:11 PM 4 comments
Looks a little creepy, isn't it? Hubby almost stepped on it the other night. It was crawling that was why he noticed it. And the curious george that he is, he hurried inside to get a ziploc so he can capture and disect it! No, he did not kill the poor creature, he only put it in a clear plastic so he can take a closer look at it :).
And this is how its belly looks like...
So, do you know its name?

'still don't know why

Posted by dangkin at 9:55 PM 1 comments
Have you ever noticed that time flies so fast when ‘ber’ months starts? I really have no idea why it is so but, that’s how I feel about it. October is almost within reach! Which means, November and December are coming soon… Yey! I’m so tickled-pink thinking that soon, I’ll have my feet on the Philippine soil again… Ahhhhhh… The thought gives me a reason to wake up early everyday. It’s been over three years since the last time I had pandesal! I wonder… does it still taste the same? Hmmm…

And speaking of going back to where I came from, I’m not only excited for the pandesal, of course, I’m very excited to see everybody again especially the whole family. I envision that my sister will be a lot better. She is going to have her 6th chemo session by the end of this month and I hope that it will be the last and all the bad cells will be gone forever.

Anyway, does anybody here is aware about this stem cell research innovation for women? I’m not really familiar about it but I got curious when people started talking about it. If you visit the C'elle website, it is written in there that they provide women with a safe and easy method of collecting and preserving stem cells found in women’s menstrual fluid each month, which can be a key to treating a number of possibly life-threatening diseases that she or anybody in the family may have in the future. Interesting, isn’t it? If you want to know more about it, try to visit C'elle Client Testimonial. See it for yourself.

My only question is: why is cancer not on their list? Anyboy has an idea???

Whenever you need it..

Posted by dangkin at 8:38 PM 0 comments
Thanks goodness, it’s Friday! It has been a gloomy week for us, which is really nice. It has finally started to cool down. I love this kind of weather. Raindrops fall every now and then but not that much. I think this is because of the consecutive hurricanes that are hitting the neighboring states. I feel bad for those who are affected, but what can I do? Its natures will.

I just hope though that those who are living in those areas have done something to keep some of their important things safe. Like, they should have known about portland crating services, the Industrial Craters & Packers who provides best service for everyone’s crating needs. They are actually very high-tech because they use CAD drawings to design the crates. Whenever your stuff needs to be protected from vibration, corrosion or moisture, they have the best solution for it. It’s easy to find them online, too… You can just type in shipping crates portland or crating portland and their website will pop-up as one of the top service providers.

And seems to me that we also might need their services soon!

Surgery, anyone?

Posted by dangkin at 8:34 PM 0 comments
Since we got into this place, hubby’s schedule has been different and actually difficult. Especially after I started working, we barely spend a lot of time together. He has to work nights and I have to work days. It’s seldom that we have the same weekend off. I think it happens only every 8 weeks. Imagine that? The sad thing is, whenever his schedule is from 12 midnight to 8am, of course I wake up to see him go and after he’s gone, I can’t go back to sleep! It’s really hard. I’ll only feel sleepy around 6am which, by that time, I already need to get up, wake my bones and get ready for work, else, I’ll be late for the day.

Right now, everything feels normal but I can see what lack of sleep is doing to our eyes. And this weekend, since hubby had a long weekend too (which is just a coincidence), we were able to catch up on our sleep. We got up really late because we stayed a little longer and tell stories about this and that until he noticed how puffy my eyes are and I notice his, too! He was a little bit worried. He said that we might need a plastic surgery when we get a little older. To which I agree because I don’t want us to look like a pair of owl when we get old. I told him that if ever we’ll have a surgery, I’d prefer it to be done at Beverly Hills cosmetic surgery because I believe that’s where the best surgeons are. Or have it done by a California plastic surgeon because that’s where all the celebrities go… I think. I’d want it to be done right the first time rather than having it done twice or thrice or worst, having it done four times. Or probably he needs to find a day job? Or better yet, we might just need to go back to Alaska. Hmmm… What do you think?
